THROUGHOUT MENUMenali Kitchen opened in January 2024 on Danforth Avenue, taking over the space that once housed MongKut Thai Gold in Greektown. The name is a nod to Manali, the Himalayan city in northern India — a place at the intersection of cultures, cuisines, and traditions, just like the menu.
The kitchen brings together three related but distinct culinary traditions: Nepalese home cooking centred on dal bhat and momos, northern Indian curries and breads, and the Indo-Chinese Hakka dishes beloved across South Asia. On the Danforth — a street that has always been about food from somewhere — Menali Kitchen fits right in.
