Our Story

Why Scarborough Chose Crosstown

It started in 2020 — a pandemic, a backyard pellet cooker, and Ruben and Tatyana Silva posting videos of what they were making. Toronto noticed. One DM became a pickup. One pickup became a pop-up. By 2025, Crosstown Craft BBQ was selling out events in under an hour, drawing three-hour lineups, and earning 13,000 social followers without a dollar of advertising.

The mission has never changed: true offset-smoked, central Texas–style barbecue — rare in Toronto — done with integrity. Real smokers, real wood, real time. No gas. No shortcuts. Just craft. The city noticed. Crosstown's fan base earned every single follower one smoked brisket at a time.

Now, after a 750-gallon Bog Line smoker upgrade and a permanent space at 51 Comstock Rd in Scarborough's Golden Mile, Crosstown is finally home. The community that built this brand gets to keep it.
